This installation ended up being one of my personal favorites, it consisted of a 50" sony plasma with media box (necessary to make the screen function at all) marantz surround sound system, QUAD speakers, Kordz Infrared kit, toshiba set top box, dvd player, vcr and 5 disc CD changer. The client requested top quality speaker cable to go with his prestige speakers, we managed to track down some of the last monster MC1x Bi-Wire speaker cable left in south east queensland - we chose this cable as it has different composition conductors to cater for the different frequencies of audio. In our attempt to find decent Bi-Wire speaker cable we spoke to many so-called high end HIFI experts (even some major retail chain "pro's") only to discover that they had no idea what Bi-Wire cable actually was. The old house was single ply timber walls (no cavity) so concealment of cabling provided a challenge in itself let alone mounting the 50" TV without seing any screws from the other side. Firstly we mounted the media box for the TV below the floor as the genuine longer cables from sony were rediculously expensive.
The media box was later vermin and insect proofed with a shroud (not pictured) We then ran all the cables to make the system function and tidied up the installation as best as we possible could
Down to the business end, final tidy up, configuration, test, present to client and tutorial.
we used a Kordz Infrared extender kit so that the client could control his gear by pointing remotes directly at his TV instead of having to point remotes over to the cabinet, this also allows for control of equipment with the timber doors on the cabinet closed.
